It is a welcome move , more self-defense apps coming on women’s safety. The new one is ‘ Nirbhaya, developed by SmartCloud Infotech. “Nirbhaya” is an emergency group messaging application with a single push hot keys to call or send SMS. At present, Nirbhaya app is available only for Android devices. You can download this free app on Google Play.
How it works
In emergency, Nirbhaya app will send an alarm by way of an SMS text message denoting woman's location to the configured group through the Global Positioning System ( GPS). The users can configure their own list of contacts incorporating police and other close relatives and friends.
